Just 13 kilometers from the city of Shkodra, Rragam has emerged as one of the area’s most promising tourist destinations, attracting visitors from different parts of Europe.
Surrounded by spectacular natural landscapes, the area has experienced significant development over the past three years. Thanks to the efforts of local residents and entrepreneurs to promote and develop the area, Rragam now attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year.
Despite the poor condition of the road leading to Koman, local entrepreneurs have created a new alternative for reaching the destination. Boat trips from Rragam to Koman take around 60 minutes and offer spectacular views throughout the journey.
Tourists visiting the area say they are impressed by its nature, hospitality and peaceful atmosphere.
“I have visited other places in Albania, but this is my first time in this area. It is very beautiful here, everything is fresh, and the people are very kind and friendly. I would like to come here every day.”
“It is my first time here. I came with my girlfriend and my family. Albania has changed a lot. The biggest problem is that we cannot pay by credit card, but the people are very friendly.”

Boat trips have now become another important part of Rragam’s growing tourism offer. The new water route provides tourists with access not only to Koman, but also to other well-known destinations in the area, including the Shala River.
The initiative to establish the boat route was also driven by the poor condition of the road to Koman, providing tourists with an alternative and more enjoyable way to reach the area.
Local business managers also see the development positively, as the boat service makes it easier for visitors to reach their businesses and explore the surrounding destinations.
In addition to its natural beauty, the area also offers opportunities to explore the nearby islands, some of which are connected to centuries-old history and cultural heritage.
Rragam is therefore becoming an increasingly important tourist destination near Shkodra, where nature, hospitality and local entrepreneurship are creating a new experience for both domestic and international visitors.
